Q. What commission is offered for National Alert Registry?
A. Earn $9 per customer (This is 90% of the total initial cost).

Searches are free after purchase, and this service is extremely viral. Already over 6 million people have searched their neighborhood.

Q. Can I change my account information or password after I sign up?
A. Yes. Visit http://affiliates.hdpublishing.net. After logging in with your username and password, you will be able to edit your settings by clicking on the “Resources” link at the top of the page then “My Profile” . You can change everything from your password, e-mail address to the “payee” information on your commission check.

Q. Does my website qualify for the HDP Affiliate Program?
A. Most web sites will qualify to participate in the program; however, we may reject web sites that we determine unsuitable. Examples of sites that would not qualify for participation include:

• Sites that promote sexually explicit material
• Sites that promote violence
• Sites that promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, sexual orientation, or age
• Sites that promote illegal activities
• Sites that violate intellectual property rights.

Q. What forms of advertising can I use to promote HDP?
A. Affiliates are welcome to promote their websites, but naturally, any promotion that mentions HDP products could be perceived by the public or the press as a joint effort. Therefore, any use of our name in such promotions must be pre-approved by HDP. This includes advertisements, press releases and mailings.

Q. What kinds of advertising are prohibited by HDP?
A. Certain forms of indiscriminate advertising, commonly referred to as “spamming” are unacceptable as they could cause damage to our brand name. Prohibited forms of advertising include the use of unsolicited commercial e-mail (UCE), postings to non-commercial newsgroups and cross-posting to multiple newsgroups at once. In addition, affiliates may not advertise in any way that effectively conceals or misrepresents their identity, their domain name or their return e-mail address. Mailings are acceptable only if the recipient is already a customer or subscriber to the Affiliate’s services. In addition, recipients must have the option of removing themselves from future mailings. (See CANN-SPAM act of 2003) Newsgroup postings are acceptable only in newsgroups that specifically welcome commercial messages. When in doubt, consult the newsgroup FAQ section or ask the moderators to be sure your message is acceptable in that newsgroup. Affiliates must also clearly represent themselves and their websites as independent entities from HDP. In any forum or media, affiliates are expected to honor the advertising practices and restrictions that are commonly considered acceptable by its audience. Failure to honor this code of conduct can result in immediate termination of an Affiliate’s account, and loss of all commissions earned.

Q. Can I contact someone for an answer to a question not listed here?

Q. What is Net Detective Plus?
A.Net Detective PLUS is a subscription model upgrade program to Net Detective which will give your customers the opportunity to access 4 additional databases. When they choose to upgrade, they are given a 3-day trial for $9.95. (non-commissionable) If they do not cancel within the 3 day trial period, on the 4th day they are billed $29.95 (also, non-commissionable to affiliates) each month until they cancel their subscription.

Q. How much do I earn when my customer upgrades their Net Detective program to Net Detective PLUS?
A.The initial $9.95 3-day trial, is non-commissionable to the affiliate. The $29.95 per month subscription cost to the customer is also non-commissionable.

Q. Do you have cookies?
A.Last referrer cookies are set at 120 days. The affiliate who converts the sale, receives the commission.

Q. Do you offer bonus incentives on high-volume sales?
A.Yes! You can earn additional commissions based on your volume. Please contact Jan Lemkow at HD Publishing Group.

Q. What’s my linking code?
A. Your linking code can be obtained by logging into your affiliate account at: http://affiliates.hdpublishing.net with your username and password and clicking on the “Resources ” tab then the “Links” tab.

Q. How will I know how much I have earned?
A. We provide 24-hour Real Time Stats on all Affiliate Accounts. Go to: http://affiliates.hdpublishing.net Log-in using your username and password and you will be given access to your account records. Here, you can track the number of clicks, sales and commission owed to you at any given time. Use this information to evaluate your performance with our program and adjust your marketing efforts accordingly.

Q. What’s the minimum payout?
A. The HDP minimum payout (threshold that must be met before a check is cut) is $25.00.

Q. How do I know when a sale has been made?
A. You will see sales reflected in your stats and you can choose to receive an e-mail confirmation of each sale when you sign up.

Q. When will I get paid?
A. HD Publishing Group sends Affiliate Commission checks out each month. We are very dependable in this respect and generally send out the checks on or before the seventh of each month. In addition, affiliates may opt to receive their payments via ACH (direct deposit) by going to their profile at http://affiliates.hdpublishing.net and adding their banking account information to the secure form located on that page. For International affiliates - wire transfers can be set up providing the volume is acceptable.

Q. How am I guaranteed payment for sales from my site?
A. You are assigned a unique Affiliate Link Code. Orders from your personal web page use the special format that includes this code. Every time a customer follows the link from your page to the HD Publishing Group product page, this unique code tells us that your affiliate account generated the customer and you will be credited for that sale.

Q. Where can I find the banners that HDP offers to webmasters for promotion?
A. Once inside our Affiliate Zone, you will find all the marketing resources you’ll need to get started. Log into your affiliate account in the Affiliate Zone at: http://affiliates.hdpublishing.net and click on the “Resources” tab at the top of the page. This will open sub-categories of “Links” and “Banners”.

Q. Can I change or personalize the banners and images provided by HDP?
A. Each of the images we’ve created for you is intended to represent our brand name and logo in a consistent fashion. We strongly encourage you to use the images as presented. If you feel that you must build something larger or more unified with your web site’s overall design, you must submit all proposed graphics for our approval prior to displaying them online or in print.

Q. How should I design my website?
A. Every Affiliate site is unique. We do however offer a standard page template for each product which you can download to your computer by clicking on the “Site Creation Tool” link in the Resources section of your affiliate stats page. In most cases, Affiliates will have a pre-existing website in place when they join the program. You will be most successful if you make your recommendations or links to HD Publishing Group look and feel like the rest of your site. Of course, if you don’t yet have a website, your options are endless. We simply encourage you to give the site its own unique personality and keep your target audience in mind while you create.

So you’re in – what now?

Your very next step is to get a link up on your site – one that your visitors will see and want to click. There are two options that have proven effective: text links and banner links.

Log in to the Affiliate Zone and check the product specific links or banners. Hover over “Resources” and click on “Links” or “Banners”.

Select the links and/or banner link you like, copy it, and paste it onto your site.

Ultimately, the decision on the type of link you’ll use and the placement of that link is entirely yours to make. Based on our experiences, we can tell you that some links are better than others. It all depends on the task at hand.

Text links are great because visitors know what to do with them. They are familiar, and perhaps most importantly, they can be used in context. Nothing sells better than a text link that you have inserted into a piece of ad copy, a review, or a testimonial. People are more likely to react when their attention is not diverted from what they are reading. They see an item of interest, and if a link allows them to explore it further, they do. Here’s an example of text links both in the body and at the end of a testimonial as a call to action using Net Detective:

“Net Detective: the easiest way to discover the truth about anyone. It’s completely legal. Use it in the privacy of your own home without anyone ever knowing.”

In most cases, banner ads are better at branding a company than they are at selling a product. Using a banner in conjunction with strategically placed text links can do a great job of raising visitor awareness of a product or merchant. When visitors read the content of a site, with text links embedded, they will have a better likelihood of clicking to take action.

An advertorial is a pre-written combination of product information and ad copy. These can be very effective as they combine images to build familiarity and strong ad copy to solicit a call to action.

Adding small bits of ad-like copy to your email signature allows for subtle work in areas like message boards, where overt commercial postings are often frowned upon. Use signature links when actively participating in a group that you and your potential customers have interest in. Here’s an example:

When beginning strategic link placement, ask yourself the following question: ‘What areas of a website do I spend most of my time looking at?’ Here are some pointers:

• Think like your prospect!
• Place links where visitors can see them easily and most often!
• Always place your links “above the fold” so that they are visible without scrolling down!
• Optimize the free space in your navigation bar by placing text or banner links there!
• If you have space at the top of your page, you can use a banner/text combo like I used above!
• The top right hand corner of your page is prime real estate – reserve it for your best sellers!
